Brief Profile of the Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives Inc.

The Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives Inc. (PCCI), doing business under the name Coop Chamber, is a non-stock, non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and works to serve its members through collaboration, advocacy, education, and networking facilities, all for the advancement of the cooperative movement.

Our mission is to foster the growth and development of cooperatives in the Philippines through advocacy, education, and collaboration with different stakeholders and institutions.

Based on the overarching goals, the Coop Chamber undertakes programs such as advocacy, representation, networking, and organizing, among others, to be able to achieve the goals and purposes set forth by the organization. The Coop Chamber undertakes a variety of activities to promote cooperativism, protect the interests of the cooperatives, and advance its cooperative agenda.

Hence, the Coop Chamber is looking for an admin and finance staff that will be responsible for attending to human resources and administration and compliance with the rules and regulations of government regulatory bodies.

The admin and finance staff will also be responsible for the delivery of assigned accounting with the Coop Chamber Financial Policies in compliance with accounting and auditing rules

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:                   ADMIN/FINANCE STAFF

REPORTING TO:         Executive Director

WORKING HOURS:     8:30 am to 5:30 pm (1-hour break) Mondays to Fridays

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists and or helps the Executive Director and the Treasurer in particular in planning implementation and realization of the Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives Inc. or Coop Chamber’s VMGs.
  2. In charge of the delivery of assigned accounting, assists in payroll, and financial services, and in the provision of assistance in budget monitoring following the existing Coop Chamber’s Financial Policies and in compliance with accounting and auditing rules and regulations as well as statutory requirements on finance.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admin

  1. Assist the Executive Director in the office administration related to the Coop Chamber’s activities.
  2. Keep all records and correspondence of the Coop Chamber.
  3. Purchases office supplies and equipment and maintenance of such.
  4. Attends to permits, licenses, and other government regulatory requirements.
  5. Attends to employees’ requirements concerning the processing of their SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-big, and other Social and cooperative benefits.
  6. Documentation and filing of all pertinent documents relative to SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG, among others.
  7. Attend regular meetings during the Executive Committee, the Board of Trustees (if required), and the Annual Membership Assembly and help the Executive Director and the Treasurer in rendering reports thereof.

Finance

  1. Timely process financial transactions as designated, including verifying invoices, related support or attachments and approvals, coding expenses to appropriate accounts, and preparing payment vouchers.
  2. Prepare journal entries for reclassifications and reconciliations as needed.
  3. Perform receiving and filing duties including but not limited to ensuring incoming documents are logged and/or filed, communicated and/or received by a related or concerned person.
  4. Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions and/or documents received by reviewing and verifying each transaction’s supporting documentation.
  5. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, policy and procedures.
  6. Provide general administrative support to the organization, such as answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, filing documents, and coordinating meetings or appointments.
  7. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

JOB  QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related

            field preferred.

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain harmony and flexibility in the performance of his/her tasks.
  • Must be of good moral character.

  1. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
    1. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  1. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  2. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality with sensitive financial information and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and company policies.
  3. Strong filing and documentation skills to maintain organized records of financial transactions and monitoring.

Requirements:

  1. NBI Clearance;
  2. Police Clearance;
  3. Diploma; and
  4. Other internal organizational requirements that will be required
