The Western Visayas Cooperatives Chamber, led and facilitated by Regional Governor Mary Jane Ganarias and supported by the Council Leaders, convened its first Regional Special Assembly on November 21 at Balai WEVISPPAC in Pavia, Iloilo. The assembly brought together more than 20 primary cooperatives from across the region to finalize strategic priorities and strengthen collaboration for Fiscal Year 2026.
During the assembly, member-cooperatives formally organized four key committees: Education, Advocacy, Ways and Means, and Election Commitees wherein each were tasked to craft targeted activities and programs for the coming year. The Coop Chamber’s Executive and Legislative Agenda was also presented by Secretary General Edwin A. Bustillos, who joined the event online via Zoom.
The assembly further served as a venue for cooperatives to reaffirm their membership to the Chamber, exchange insights, and expand networks.
In a significant step toward bolstering regional cooperative development, delegates approved two Assembly Resolutions aimed at strengthening the cooperative agenda.
RSM Mark Mobe also highlighted new opportunities for advanced training and professional development through NAFECoop, offering cooperatives pathways for higher learning and capacity-building.
