Central Visayas Regional Cooperatives Chamber (RCC) discussed with the Federation of Cebu Transport Cooperatives (FCTC) current transport service coops’ concerns and explored areas for possible partnership and membership engagement. The Regional Chamber also looked into the possibility of organizing a specific townhall meeting in coordination with the FCTC.
Engr. Rudolph “Tad” Montayre, Regional Governor of the Central Visayas RCC presided over the meeting held on October 22, 2025, at Pier Cuatro Hotel, Cebu City. He also shared the overview of the Coop Chamber as well as the organization’s advocacies. FCTC Chairperson Ellen Maghanoy and several members shared that they were already familiar with the Chamber’s leadership—particularly Secretary General Edwin Bustillos—through previous engagements in Congress and the Senate.
Executive Director Bryan Villasana joined the meeting online to present the Coop Chamber’s position paper related to the institutionalization of the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP) including its latest appeal to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., outlining the organization’s recommendations concerning transport issues.
The body exchanged ideas and opportunities moving forward to address key issues of the transport sector.
Ways Forward:
- The FCTC agreed to discuss with their member primary transport cooperatives possible membership to the Coop Chamber. Their membership shall be updated by the Secretary of the Federation. Copy of the membership template was already provided.
- The Coop Chamber requested the federation to submit region-specific issues that might require further evaluation or policy action
