More than a hundred cooperative leaders operating in Region 4a or Calabarzon actively participated during the launching of the 2025 Regional Cooperatives Chamber Assemblies with the theme, “Sustaining the Gains and Advancing the Cooperative Agenda for a Better World”.
Organized last May 30, 2025 at the PCLEDO Conference Room of the Batangas Provincial Capitol, the Assembly was graced by National Anti-Poverty Commission Lead Convenor Lope B. Santos III who presented the national government’s anti-poverty projects. Chairperson Alex Raquepo of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) provided the keynote message, where he highlighted the significance of the Coop Chamber in ensuring participatory governance as one of the thrusts of the Marcos Administration. Reelected AGAP Partylist Rep. Nikki Briones also graced the event and shared how he will promote the cooperative agenda in the 20th Congress.
The series of Regional Assemblies to be held in 16 regions organizes an educational forum where the Cooperative Co-operative College of the Philippines discusses how we can further strengthen our cooperative identity; Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev, formerly NEDA) presents the Regional Development Plan, while the Coop Chamber presents initial cooperative inputs to the Philippine Development Plan and Assessment on the Coop Vote Advocacy.
The Regional Coop Chamber also conducted an organizational meeting where they elected their new Regional Governor, Mr. Ruel Punzalan of the PKI Employees and Community Multipurpose Cooperative.
