Easter Sunday on a Women’s Month

Christ has risen!

What a fitting day to end the women’s month celebration.

During His Sufferings on the Cross, His Mother Blessed Virgin Mary and other women followers were there, in pain and sorrow while Jesus was crucified on the Cross. The ordeal that Jesus Christ underwent until his last breath was shared by a few of His apostles and brave women in that Calvary who stood with Him and shared His last breath on earth. Then Easter Sunday came. Mary Magdalene was the first to know that Christ had risen. The role of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the women followers of Christ in those turbulent times was remarkable.

In our society, Women are always regarded as weak. But on the contrary, women are also the pillars of our nation. They share their life in bringing up a family and contributing to the betterment of society.

Like in the cooperative movement, women are co-steward of men in governing and managing a cooperative enterprise. Women actively participate in all programs and activities of the enterprise to ensure that they will positively impact their families and the communities in particular and society in general.

“The women in the cooperative movement would like to celebrate this happy moment. It’s Easter, and it represents hope, deliverance, and a celebration of love, the way we celebrate Women’s Month. ” Said Marlene Sindayen, GM of the Novaliches Development Cooperative and Board of Trustee of Coop Chamber .
