MANILA, Philippines—Garnering the path to sustainable development and igniting the spirit of cooperativism in the heart of every Filipino, the Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives Inc. officially makes its first inaugural appearance this November 15, 2023, at 5:00 PM at the Marriott Manila Hotel in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
“Today is one of the historic events in the cooperative movement. As we organized an advocacy arm of the cooperative movement at par with the organizations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we would like to introduce to you the Cooperative Chamber of the Philippines, aligning with its values and principles as we work together with the government towards common good and progress for our community. In this cooperative chamber, it will also serve as a platform where co-op leaders will discuss issues, events, and programs advocating government policies for advancement and our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals as part of the U.N. convention,” Mr. Noel D. Raboy, Founding Chairperson, said.
The chamber’s board of trustees encompasses fourteen
different leaders, educators, and advocates from different cooperative sectors
in the Philippines, equipped with a diverse set of knowledge, experience, and
commitment to providing a platform and a voice for both small and big
enterprises in the country.
The organization was undersigned by its members and has an
official registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission under Sec.
Registration number 202307010953-3002, July 24, 2023. The launch of the Coop
Chamber sparks a beacon of hope, peace, and social progress since cooperative
movements are entirely committed to promoting inclusivity, financial stability,
and economic development while building a more resilient and prosperous
community.
The establishment of the organization marks the beginning of
a newfound mission to provide business development support, training, and
education while advocating for friendly cooperative policies able to have a
positive influence on the lives of its members. Nonetheless, the Coop Chamber
is a byproduct of the transformative power of collective action and shared
ownership.
